“They’ll light a fire under you that you won't want to put out.” - CITA Magazine

Get ready for an artful alchemy of sinsation! The Jigglewatts Burlesque Revue and the darkly melodic rock ‘n’ roll of Mr. Lewis & the Funeral 5 are resurrecting their electrifying live band burlesque show on October 5th at The Ballroom in Austin, Texas.

This Halloween season, prepare to be spellbound as the stage transforms into a haunted cabaret, where shadows dance and desires ignite. Immerse yourself in a world of whiskey-soaked rock ‘n’ roll, shimmering fringe, and tantalizing tassels.

We dare you to don your most bewitching attire and join us for a night of kinetic entertainment. Let the music possess you, the burlesque enchant you, and the spirits of the stage come alive.

This is no ordinary show; it’s a séance of sultry dancing and bone-rattling beats.

This month’s cast includes Jigglewatts Ruby Joule, Jolie Goodnight, Ruby Lamb, Something BlueAlexander the Great, and Selma Bawdy.

With two album release parties and a shared history that goes back 15 years, the band and the dancers are a natural fit. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a night of spooky seduction and rock ‘n’ roll revelry.

“Eye-popping glamour… a burlesque troupe with a racy show that’s not to be missed.”

Mr. Lewis & the Funeral 5 were named by Austin Chronicle music writers Michael Toland and Kevin Curtain as having one of the top five Austin albums of 2018. The band “takes gloom for a spin on the dance floor by blending the jaunty waltzes of Weimar Berlin with a blues-infected roots dive,” says Toland. Billed as playing macabaret/post-apocalyptic stripper music, the band creates new tones with their latest release, which is richly contemplative but still aggressively playful. Influenced by artists like Tom Waits, Ennio Morricone, Esquivel, Cop Shoot Cop, and The Doors, their sound defies categories, like the dancers who will share their stage with them: listen here.

The Jigglewatts’ ongoing residency at The Ballroom features live music, comedy, drag, variety, and world-class burlesque performances in a swanky cabaret setting. The Jigglewatts Burlesque is a perfect match for this jewel-box of a space where floor to ceiling red velvet curtains, an artfully appointed stage, and an aura of old Vaudeville add to the immersive experience. Guests can also look forward to saucy door prizes and goodie bags from Forbidden Fruit boutique. With the longest continuously running burlesque show in Texas, The Jigglewatts are a slice of classic weird Austin.
