Bandelier with special guest Avery Marshall
Bandelier formed in the summer of 2010 in a warehouse in downtown Tulsa. Frontman Ryan Allen, originally hailing from Texas, spent years exploring the roots of American music which eventually turned the classically trained pianist and composer into a full-fledged songwriter. Today, the band's music can be traced back to those same traditions with an even stronger sense of place, especially that of the American Southwest and of their own home state of Oklahoma which lies somewhere in between the great Wild West, the folkloric Midwestern Ozarks, and the deep country-fried South. Bandelier's songs are a reflection of where they are in the world, at the very center The Heartland, as they turn those old anthems into new cinematic soundscapes.
The supporting band members are all born-and-raised Tulsans. Pawnee Native Nathan Wilson brings an eclectic and colorful folk style to the drums. Keyboardist and multi-instrumentalist Clay Grogan is responsible for much of the band's special orchestration and arrangements. Bassist Rusty Rowe anchors and supports the sound with tasteful skill. Guitarist and songwriter Will Gibson brings immense talent and knowledge of traditional and cosmic American music to the band. Together, Bandelier showcases both a unique and familiar sound with deep vast roots that stretches into new directions.
Bandelier independently released their debut album 'Landlines' and have released their sophomore record 'Westhope' at the end of 2023. Be sure to listen closely, catch the band live, and follow their trail at bandeliermusic.com
