Faydream: A Fantasy Drag and Burlesque Show
~Your ears perk up to the sound of whispers on the wind. You feel your eyes glance across the street, where a warm light illuminates the cobbled road. Music seeps out of the building, as if beckoning you. You are approaching before you even know it, and upon the threshold, a portal seems to be before you. On the other side, you see a gathering of all manners of kind - human, fae, cryptid alike - all basking in the glory of one anothers company. You step over the threshold, and feel yourself engulfed in the merriment. Is this real, or is this a dream?~
Faydream is a new drag show hosted at Rubber Gloves Rehersal Studio, in Denton, TX. It is a fantasy and sci fi themed event, where the performers take on the likes of all kinds of fae, creature, alien, god, goddess, or other mystical being. The show is hosted and produced by Denton legend Rex Luther, and the original elf of DFW, Varrus Graves.
Costumes are encouraged! Wear your favorite garb, some fairy wings, a costume from Halloween, or even clown makeup! As long as you are living your fantasy, it is encouraged (within reason. Keep the bits covered). There will be a costume contest, where the prize is tickets to the December 19th installment of Faydream!
Raffle tickets will be sold presale, as well as at the event. A limited amount will be sold with tickets, here on Prekindle. They will then be available at the show, from when the doors open, to when the show starts. The raffle prizes are a mix of all kinds of goodies. Some handmade wares from local artisans, tickets to other events, all leading up to the grand prize: Tickets to High Fantasy Events New Years party, Pink Pony Pub! These tickets are kindly donated by the DJ of the evening, producer of High Fantasy Events, and Dallas Entertainment Award Winner of Best Party Producer 2023, Blake Ward.
If you buy a raffle ticket presale, be sure to show the front your raffle ticket purchase. They will give you a ticket with your wristband. Fill out the appropriate side of the ticket, and make sure you find the Jester roaming around to put you in the raffle!
There will be a photo booth provided by Dragon Dreams Photos! The booth will offer professionally done photography by Dragon Dreams Photos. The photos start at $15 - and for retouches and enhancement it is $25. But for all it is worth, you will want the fantasy edits with special effects for only $35! Get professionally done photography for a phoenominal price. If you are not convinced, you can see their work by following the link below. Our friends at Dragon Dreams Photography take cash and card, and gladly will accept tips into their hoard.

This show is a trial. The goal of Faydream productions is to produce events that allow new and seasoned performers alike to share the stage. We aspire to create a community around the growing population of drag cryptids and creatures, as well as pay homage to the fantasy and science fiction genres with loosely themed shows. If Faydream succeeds in 2024, it will open as an application based show in 2025, where you can apply to be on cast based on the theme of the show.
