Afro-Latin roots music with Cuban conjunto sounds of the 1940s-60s. Their repertoire is a mix of Cuban son - son montuno, cha cha cha, guaracha, boleros, and Colombian cumbia and gozadera. Rey Arteaga/Son y No Son plays in a variety of ensemble configurations, from duo to septet, for performances both public and private. Their instrumentation is congas and vocals, guitar/trés, piano, bajo sexto baritone guitar, bass, cornet/trumpet/trombone, timbales.
