Jozef van Wissem is an established surreal lutenist. The landscapes he creates with his custom-made all black baroque lute can be described as sonic oddities. The Warsaw based avant-garde artist is a critically acclaimed composer for film. Notably, he won the Cannes Soundtrack Award for Jim Jarmusch’s Only Lovers Left Alive in 2013. His live sets are known to be haunting and experimental, combining the traditions and rituals of the olde ways with contemporary yet spellbinding noise.
