Forgotten Space is a North Texas-based Grateful Dead tribute band formed in 2006, known for delivering an authentic and immersive experience that captures the spirit of the Grateful Dead's live performances. Their performances blend meticulous recreation of the Grateful Dead's sound with tasteful improvisation, reflecting the Dead's signature mix of rock, blues, jazz, folk, and psychedelic elements. The band explores arrangements from all eras of the Grateful Dead’s 30-year career (1965–1995), from 1960s Pigpen-era songs to 1980s Brent Mydland tracks, ensuring a diverse setlist that appeals to both Deadheads and newcomers. Their setup, including two guitars, bass, keyboards, and strong vocal harmonies, mirrors the Grateful Dead’s instrumentation, while their fearless improvisation creates a dynamic, dance-friendly vibe.
