Ten Hands

Described as a cross between the jazz-rock-art style of Frank Zappa and the psychedelic punk of the Meat Puppets, Ten Hands is known for their energetic and fun live shows. Their music tends to be frenetic, syncopated and funky. Matched with Paul Slavens’ vocals, and political assertions that denigrated the ruling elite, the complacent middle class, and environmental evils, Ten Hands have been one of the more politically oriented Texas bands of the era. They rarely forget to be fun, however, and their musical playfulness and lyrical absurdism belie any pretensions they may have.   Earl Harvin and Mike Dillon (Seal, Rickie Lee Jones, The The and Les Claypool) will be there as the original BIG ONE lineup takes the stage at the Kessler Theater April 18, 2025, to officially re-release The Big One on vinyl.

HALLS OF THE MACHINE

HALLS OF THE MACHINE is a minimalist instrumental project by former COURSE OF EMPIRE members, guitarist Mike Graff and drummer Michael Jerome, along with keyboardist Van Eric Martin.

In 2017, the group released their second album All Tribal Dignitaries and were joined in videos and live performances by bassist Mike Daane.

During rare breaks in Jerome’s tour schedule with other artists like Better Than Ezra, Richard Thompson, The Third Mind, and Slash Blues Ball, the group worked on a new album called Blue Sparkle Nights, currently scheduled for release in 2025.

On April 18th, the guys will be celebrating a double-disc gatefold vinyl re-release of their first album Atmospheres for Lovers and Sleepers. The new vinyl re-release features two new bonus tracks: a cover of Santo and Johnny’s 1959 smash “Sleep Walk”, and “Perpetual Moment” by Van Eric Martin.
