Decolonizing the Music Room's Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Asian Music Symposium

Decolonizing the Music Room’s is proud to announce it's second annual Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Asian (BBIA) Music Symposium! This event is a three-day conference for BBIA people in music education and related fields to connect through community, learn collaboratively, make music, and imagine a just future.

The 2024 symposium opening keynote will be delivered by Dr.Connie McKoy - Professor Emerita of the School of Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Co-author of Culturally Responsive Teaching in Music Education: From Understanding to Application.
