In the quiet, intimate glow of the Rose ChapelNovember 17 promises a night of music that feels less like performance and more like revelation. The duo Ordinary Elephant, whose songs emerge like whispered secrets or confessions not meant for the light of day, will fill the room with their haunting harmonies and quiet, unassuming power. They do not perform so much as invite you into their world—a world where every word carries weight, every note a story half-told, lingering long after it’s played.

In the other half of the evening, Wes Collins, with his deft guitar and razor-sharp lyricism, will weave a tapestry of melodies that feel at once familiar and utterly new, like a long-forgotten memory you can almost, but not quite, place. His music is a study in contrasts—intimate yet expansive, delicate yet unyielding. You’ll find yourself leaning forward, caught in the currents of his narrative, as if the very air is charged with meaning, impossible to ignore.

Southside Preservation Hall—its grand history and the echoes of its past lives—will serve as the perfect setting for this convergence of voices, a sanctuary for those who find solace in the small, quiet moments of beauty that great music so often provides. Please join us for this special evening. There will be a full bar available and a session afterward, so feel free to bring your instruments.
