John Saviours Udomboso is an award winning Afro-pop , singer/songwriter and producer. Born on February 16, 1995, Young Jonn spent his early childhood in Ibadan and began producing music in 2009 before moving finally to Lagos in 2012.
After moving to Lagos, he signed with Hit Factory Studios, where he honed his skill as a producer working with and building the sound of several legendary Artists on the Nigerian music scene today. He popped into the mainstream with timeless hits like "Mafo" by Naira Marley, "Shakiti Bobo", and "Story for the Gods" by Olamide (Baddo), "Biggest Badside" by Davido to more recent hits like "Don't Call Me" by Lil Kesh; currently the #1 song in Nigeria. Other memorable Artists he has worked with include - Tiwa Savage, Kizz Daniels, and Flavour to name a few. His accolades include 3 Awards in the Producer Category the Nigerian Entertainment Awards, several nominations. Young Jonn's credits have established him as one of the most iconic singer, songwriter and producers in the last 10 years.
In 2021, Young Jonn signed an Artist Recording Agreement with Nigeria's foremost record label, Chocolate City Music, known for their track record of making Producers into Superstars (CKay, Love Nwantiti). His first project Love Is Not Enough Vol 1. was released in April to critical acclaim scoring him a remix to his first single "Dada" with Davido. The project features singer, songwriter and recording Artist VEDO in a cross over Pop track, "Next To You" alongside production collaborations with some of the best in the industry - Niphkeys, and Dozer.
In 2022, he released Xtra Cool off his "Love Is Not Enough" Vol. 2 and it became an industry sensation entering #1 on Apple Music, Deezer, Shazam and Radio in Nigeria within two weeks of release. The record charted in over 89 countries with his sophomore project "Love is Not Enough" Vol 2. peaking at Number 1 on the Nigerian album charts and going ahead to chart in over 20 countries. He ended the year with a smashing feature from street-pop artist Zlatan titled "Astalavista", a pop record that also created a lot of buzz for the festive period in December.
His first release for 2023, "Currency" featuring YBNL head huncho Olamide has been a viral anthem in the mouths of the fans since its release on February 2nd. This record went ahead and peaked on the Nigerian song charts with over 15 thousand videos on TikTok and over 19 million streams on all platforms.
Another smashing feature "Stamina" with Africa's finest female artists Tiwa Savage & Ayra Starr released on the 15th of march this year further emphasizes YoungJonn's vocal cadence and brilliant delivery on every song he's on. YoungJonn put out his second single for the year "AQUAFINA" an amapiano themed love anthem released on the 28th of April 2023 alongside a very bright and colorful visual shot by the talented music video director TG Omori. This music video has gone ahead to surpass over 1 Million views on Youtube with the song gaining over 30 Million streams on all platforms since his release. His hit single "Sharpally" released 21st of July 2023 is a harmonious blend of love and him wanting to have a good time with heady lyrics perfectly placed to intoxicate the listener. This track has garnered over 30 million streams since its release.
His latest release is a set of two-pack high tempo single "Disconnect + Go Hard" released November 16th 2023. These pulsating anthems effortlessly blends elements of Afropop & amapiano with Young Jonn delivering a beautiful display of musical prowess. These singles serve as an opener to his forthcoming album titled "JIGGY FOREVER" set to be released early this year 2024
