CONCERT WITH A CONSCIENCE

With the launch of Concert with a Conscience in 2011, this music fundraising event has provided multiple individuals the opportunity to be involved with charitable work, while expanding to a national network of individuals and groups who are seeking opportunities to learn more about volunteer opportunities and involvement with global charities. During the event’s first 10 years, Concert with a Conscience hosted benefit concerts with local and national artists in Stillwater, Oklahoma, with the desire to raise awareness, promote service and benefit charitable organizations worldwide.  Past shows have benefitted countries including Haiti, Nicaragua, Uganda and Mexico. The 2021 and 2023 sellout concerts at the Dunkin Theatre helped Proem Ministries care for the Ukrainian refugee crises in 2022, and also provided support for the 2023 Kontakt Festival held this past June in Poland.

PROEM MINISTRIES

Proem Ministries was founded in post-communist Poland in 1990, soon after the first free democratic elections in Poland took place. Proem has grown from serving 150 kids at the first camp in 1990 to 3,500 kids annually from Poland and Eastern Europe (Belarus, Lithuania, Ukraine) as well as from places as far away as Israel, Ireland, and Africa. Proem began with summer camps for children and teens that offered sports, crafts, outdoor adventure, alongside Biblical teaching and worship. Today, the ministry has expanded even more to include language camps as well as Christian education, church planting, and community outreach. Proem’s vision is to connect people to the hope and freedom found in Jesus, while bringing meaningful change in communities through the local church.

KONTAKT VOLUNTEER FESTIVAL

Kontakt is an annual event that takes place in Piotrkow, Poland, with participation of volunteers from the local community and abroad. The festival is organized by Proem Ministries and includes service projects, sports tournaments and live music concerts. For the past 14 years, more than 2,500 volunteers have served at annual Kontakt Festivals, traveling from Poland, the United States, Northern Ireland, Belarus, Germany, China and Ukraine. Kontakt is a great opportunity for volunteers to participate in service projects and reshape reality for some of Poland’s most needy families and underserved populations. Proem’s desire to assist families in need, while also connecting them to the local church and engage each individual to be involved in outreach and to be connected to a body of believers.  New opportunities that Proem teams up with Richmond Road Band are concerts, performances and events with the special needs population of the surrounding areas during Kontakt.

RICHMOND ROAD BAND

Richmond Road is a group of local musicians and vocalists that formed in 2018 to travel to Poland to play shows for Proem Ministries.  Members of the band have been involved with past Concert with a Conscience shows as well.  While in Poland in 2018 and 2019, the band performed during the week-long Proem Kontakt festivals.  They returned to Poland this past June, playing five shows that included street corner concerts in local towns Piotrokow, Rawa Mazowieka, Opoczno and a private concert for special needs groups, their families and local caretakers.  Concert with a Conscience is the band’s main fundraising opportunity each year, but every show played throughout the year goes toward continuing their involvement with Proem each June.  Playing all kinds of events for over seven years now, the band continues with a strong local following and a reputation as an excellent cover band with popular/classic song selection and tight harmonies.  Featuring songs from bands such as The Black Crowes, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, OneRepublic, U2, this year’s show will also have a strong influence of all different genres of the 80’s music scene.

THE DUNKIN THEATRE

The Dunkin Theatre has become central Oklahoma’s best concert venue, after completing extensive renovation in July of 2017.  The Dunkin Theatre’s state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, theatre seating, and a full service food and beverage option, enhance your event experience.

We'll see you at the show!
