The New Essentials

The New Essentials bring a mix of effortlessly energetic, soulful sounds from Austin, Texas. 

Led by singer and songwriter Mike Donello with a collective of versatile ATX musicians, all members of The New Essentials are multi-instrumentalists that add an extremely fun energy to any type of event. The current core trio of the group features Mike and two other ATX singers and songwriters, Chris Hawkes of “Dawn and Hawkes” and Matt Creaton. 

Sounds of classic rock, reggae, blues guitar and pop harmonies, along with various percussion pieces —all passed around— create a unique, texture-filled experience. The New Essentials are adaptive to each and every audience with a wide array of covers and captivating original tunes.
