Jesse Smith, aka “Jasper Smitty” is a north Florida native returning home after spending the last thirteen years in New Orleans, Louisiana. While growing up, he was taken under the wings of Charlie Hargrette (Blackfoot) as well as local legends Brad Burns, Mike Boulware, Don David, and Harry Wuest. These gentlemen took the time to pass down their years of musical knowledge and feel to an eager-to-learn apprentice, and Jesse started to perform professionally at the age of 14. Jesse studied Jazz Saxophone at the College of Music at Florida State University which led to many connections that gave way to a healthy career of touring and performance as a session artist, sideman, and front man based out of New Orleans and New York City.  Jesse is back home getting back to his roots melting his own style with all the music he’s found along the way.
