THE NANCYS

OUTDOOR SHOW, ALL AGES

Swamp Showcase is the annual flagship event put on by Swamp Records, the University of Florida’s student-run artist resource agency. Featuring Gainesville’s hottest local indie bands as well as some out-of-town friends, Cirque du Swamp is guaranteed to be circus of fun!

The Nancys

The Nancys started with a simple recipe: good friends, great music, plenty of wine nights, and the occasional interruption from their beloved cats. Based in Gainesville, the indie-rock band combines the raw emotion of Big Thief with the genre-blending energy of The 1975, crafting songs that feel both deeply personal and universally relatable. Their first single, Sweet, cemented their place in the local scene, earning them a dedicated following drawn to their introspective lyrics and laid-back yet dynamic sound. The Nancys continue to push boundaries with their upcoming single, Tell Me to Be, a track that promises to take their sound to new emotional heights. As The Nancys continue making waves, one question remains unanswered: Who, exactly, is Nancy?

Buboy

Buboy has always wanted to prove himself. Growing up Filipino-American in a Florida college town, he spent his hours away from school escaping into movie theaters, his mind constantly racing beyond his friendly neighborhood roots. The 19-year-old songwriter channels that restless energy into songs that are equal parts honest, relatable, and catchy. Blending influences from indie favorites beabadoobee and Dominic Fike, Buboy makes music for everyone who has realized that growing up isn't exactly like the movies. Stacking up over 650,000 streams and performances alongside flipturn, Roar, Bedside Kites, and Nick Hakim, Buboy's youthful songwriting, infectious hooks, and charming indie production are helping him find his way through the world, one fumble at a time.

MADWOMAN
MADWOMAN is a six-piece indie-psych pop band born from the swamps of Gainesville, Florida. The band blends live instrumentation with electronic elements, creating a genre-defying sound that is both thunder and lightning. Known for their energetic yet intimate live shows, they’ve performed at major festivals like Hulaween, Gasparilla Music Festival, and Okeechobee. With a commitment to pushing musical boundaries and remaining authentic, MADWOMAN is quickly becoming a standout in Florida’s vibrant music scene.

Trash Panda
Trash Panda began in 2015 as the pet recording project of songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist Patrick Taylor, expanding into a duo then a trio in 2016. Pulling influences as wide as neopsychedelia, soul, indie rock and pop music, the band considers themselves somewhat post-genre. Trash Panda’s early work tapped into both the perils of modern dating and the existential questions of dark nights of the soul. Their 2016 EP Off features crowd-favorites “Aging Out of the 20th Century” and “Check Please.” Trash Panda’s 2018 album The Starclimber made a splash with tongue-in-cheek banger “Atlanta Girls” alongside the psychedelic groove of “Heartbreak Pulsar.” In its first wave, only two years of frenzied creativity, the band made a regional splash touring small and mid-sized venues and during its four year hiatus reached a certain level global cult status, with passionate fans spanning the globe. After the album the band went on hiatus and pursued other projects, emerging four years later in 2022 with several new members for a single, “Things Will Never Change,” which is quickly gaining attention, featured in its first week on Spotify's Indie Chillout and Modern Psychedelia playlists. Autumn of 2022 brought the band their first nationwide tour as support for Ceramic Animal, and 2023 brought them their first headlining tour in support of their newest studio album, PANDAMONIUM!. Fall of 2023 brings more tour dates with Hotel Fiction and Mo Lowda & the Humble along with several single releases.
