ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Jake Dixon

I am a composer, songwriter, bassist, and artist currently based in Dallas, TX.
I have a B.A. in Music from Southern Methodist University where I studied double bass performance with Brian Perry (Dallas Symphony Orchestra) and music composition with Dr. Lane Harder. In 2022 I spent 4 months living in Copenhagen, Denmark and studied bass with Michal Stadnicki at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
I've performed with orchestras, wind ensembles, jazz bands, in various pit orchestras for musical theatre shows in the DFW metroplex, and at various churches for both contemporary and traditional services.
I've appeared on recordings from New York-based Huailing, and Dallas-based David Hokanson playing double bass, guitar, banjo, electric bass, synthesizer, and singing backup vocals. I've been writing and recording music at home and in the studio with bands since 2016.
