Christina Raia is an NYC-based writer and director, the Founder of CongestedCat Productions, and the Crowdfunding Director at Seed&Spark. Her work, a collection of short films, a web series, and two feature films, has gained a large online following through multiple crowdfunding campaigns. Began GaylerSmith in 1985, the first client was Columbia Pictures for 21 years, in addition handled TriStar Pictures, Screen Gems, Orion, Castle Rock Entertainment , MGM,United Artist, Dino Delaurentis Studios, Island Pictures, Miramax, Weintraub, Weinstein, Dimension, Third Rail, Planet Hollywood, Butcher Runs Productions, Roadside Attractions,and many independent films, too many to name. Have worked on thousands of films, worked with hundreds of actors, directors, writers, producers. Have developed National , regional, and local campaigns, executed national to local premieres, special events, and unit publicity, personal appearance tours. Have had the opportunity to work some of the all time greats from Greer Garson, Jack Lemmon, Don Ameche, Paul Newman, Christopher Reed, Horton Foote, and Gregory Peck to current day actors and actresses. 2016 will be celebrating 36 years doing publicity and promotion for major motions pictures. Launched Planet Hollywood Restaurant openings in Las Vegas, Miami, Dallas, San Antonio, Los Angeles. Maintained events and publicity for the Dallas and San Antonio locations.
GaylerSmith also was one of the first to recognize the importance of the internet, was one of the first to develop a website design division. We developed one of the very first film websites for The Last Days of Disco. In addition developed Virgin Music Website, Hockaday, focused on entertainment and education sites. Always on the cutting edge of technology and looking for ways to market to the masses.
Danette Linicomn leads The Linicomn Agency with over 10 years experience with a strong background and knowledge of the industry. With a degree in Paralegal Studies, she has worked for various law firms in Dallas. Having experience in business management, contract negotiations, and research, she obtains the necessary skills to find work within the industry to keep her talent busy and clients happy. With a background in the legal field she has had the opportunity to work alongside several prominent and well-known attorneys in the metroplex.
Among her significant experience, Danette graduated from KD Studio Actors Conservatory with an Associate in Applied Arts in Acting. Her understanding of the industry has allowed her to gain a tremendous amount of experience and exposure among industry professionals. With a background in acting and modeling, and having been considered “talent” herself, she is well equipped to not only give actors and models proper representation, but has a clear understanding of providing her clients exactly what they need.
To date, she is the principal model for Empress Haircare products and has first hand knowledge of all aspects of the entertainment industry on both sides. As an agent, her goal is to help models, actors and dancers achieve their dreams of success in the most professional way possible!
Trish Avery, SAG-AFTRA's DFW Local Executive Director, has more than 30 years experience in the entertainment business, in front of and behind the camera. She is committed to the growth of Texas independent production and creative careers throughout the region. As a Board officer of the Texas Motion Picture Alliance (TXMPA), Trish Avery advocates for all Texans working in film, TV, commercials, new media and more.
John has a bachelor of science from the University of Iowa and over 30 years in the production industry. He is a partner and executive producer at Lucky 21, a commercial production company with a roster of directors for client film projects. From the directors to the production team, Lucky 21 pursues creativity with a great voracity. They bring a contagious energy and tireless drive to the job, and take that extra step to uncover the right approach for striking results.
King Hollis has worked in the film business since 1992. From 1999-2003 Hollis worked for Deep Ellum Pictures, where he directed projects for various companies including Motorola, Pepsi, and Sony. In 2004, Hollis opened his own creative agency, Media 13 Studios. In 2008, King directed the feature length film, Pearl- The Story of Pearl Carter Scott; the film went on to win awards at numerous film festivals. In 2010 Hollis produced the action thriller, Sinners & Saints. Most recently King Hollis produced the reality television boxing series for CW and Telemundo, The Undercard. He also Produced Daylight’s End for Sony, and is scheduled to go into production this fall with the action Film
Sybil Wilkes is the co-host of the Tom Joyner Morning Show, a nationally syndicated radio program heard in over 100 markets with an audience of more than eight million. An original member of the show, initially joining the crew as a news anchor, each morning Wilkes provides “the voice of reason” alongside host Tom Joyner and daily celebrity co-hosts including Arsenio Hall, Sherri Shepherd and Bill Bellamy.
A noted news and political journalist, Wilkes has landed major interviews with some of today’s top newsmakers including joining President Barack Obama and Senator John Edwards on the campaign trail for exclusive one-on-one interviews as well as a candid interview with Former President Bill Clinton. As an avid reader, she created “Sybil’s Book Club”, started in 1996, which features African-American authors at live events and offers an opportunity for book lovers to meet and engage with their favorite writers. She has received a number of accolades including The President’s Award from the NAACP Image Awards, and an honorary Doctorate Degree from Bennett College in Greensboro, NC. Most recently, Wilkes has become a national ambassador for the Susan G. Komen Circle of Promise Campaign.
A graduate of Northwestern University, she received a Bachelors of Science in Political Science and Communication Studies. Wilkes lives by the biblical saying handed down by her parents, “To whom much is given, much is required.”
