Mash up the delightfully, cosmically odd, ethereal sound scape that is Pink Floyd with the surreality of The Tin Man, Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion and Dorothy (and oh yes, Toto) following The Yellow Brick Road to The Land Of Oz. The way it works at the house is that you wait for the third roar of the MGM lion that precedes the opening of the 1939 Classic “The Wizard Of Oz”, then drop the needle on Floyd’s “Dark Side Of The Moon”, burn one and then buckle up for safety. This is not cultural, urban, hippie, stoner myth. What ensues is a most bizarrely, inexplicable phenomenon that I doubt even NASA can explain.
At Dan’s Silver Leaf we take it a step further though. Local guitar luminary Pete Weise puts together a live rock chamber orchestra that takes the place of the Pink Floyd recording. If you haven’t seen this, it’s a must.
